Abstract

The temporal dynamics of interference power is studied in Poisson networks with slotted random access and Rayleigh fading. Specifically, we analyze the occurrence of high interference events (pikes) and the time in between (valleys). Our main insight is that pikes arrive in bursts. This observation may help in the design of reliability techniques.
