5G-Bereitstellung Für Smart Industrie Anwendungen

Project Details

Description

The manufacturing industry is undergoing automation and digitization of industrial processes under the industry 4.0 revolution. These processes use numerous data-intensive devices and services that besides requiring low latency communication sometimes also need high data rates. The 5G campus network solution together with edge computing and machine learning approaches can be an effective enabler in shaping the future of smart factories. However, little understanding has been developed to identify concreate requirements for 5G from the industrial applications e.g., in terms of location awareness, security, safety, reliability, and trustworthiness. Moreover, the potential of 5G and related technologies have not been completely highlighted to the industry. The framework for a smooth transition to roll out 5G Communication and how it can be adapted is to be worked out. 5GEARING concerns developing guidelines on 5G deployment for manufacturing industries with the aim to demonstrate its capabilities using these guidelines. The framework will be developed and demonstrated in close collaboration with relevant stakeholders and disseminated to a broader community for larger impacts.
