Abstract

This work reports, for the first time, electronic detection of single polystyrene beads via array of piezoelectric (PZE) suspended microchannel resonators (SMRs). In addition, bacterial cells of the species Bacillus subtilis are analyzed in fluidic environment at single cell level and with a throughput in the order of hundred cells per minute. Our technology allows to extract the mass distribution across heterogeneous bacterial cell populations, in a simple and efficient manner.
